Not really. Same as most fish. Pellets and some veggies. You can teach them them to eat romain lettuce hanging from a veggie clip.

Do het grows fast or slow?

Real slow like watching grass grow lol. They are herbivores. You should get one for your sons tank.
lol, very slow...

Ive had Monty even longer than J jaws7777 has had Chewy and it is a painfully slow growing fish!

Has the family decided yet?

I'm happy to get some hets now, I think they will be happy in my 65 for quite a while it sounds, and it'll be easier to feed them in a smaller tank until they get bigger. The Polleni also grow super slowly, not sure they are as slow at the Hets though. So I think a good order is Het, Polleni, and then whatever else for The Upgrade.

How long have you two had Chewy and Monty? DMD123 DMD123 says longer than jaws, but how long is that, and how big was the fish when you got it?

My het 'project' began at the begining of April 2014. These were to be 1 1/4" fish but you know what that meant... the real world measurement was 3/4".
