My Pond's Progression

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
thanks everyone! only 2 of the larger fish are mine: the koromo and showa. the other 3 belong to my uncle but they're currently in my pond because he has a leak. he found it and fixed it and they'll be gone this weekend.
i just picked up 3 more, pictures will be up tomorrow :)

beautiful, now break out a chair and some cold beer and enjoy your hard work. you earned it.

thank you:)

i bought a nice showa, hi utsuri, and one i don't even know the name of today. it only has scales along the top fin and it has the same pattern as a kohaku. i'll look up what it is tomorrow. i'm very eager to see the development of these fish:headbang2

pictures of the new fish up tomorrow!

Keep an eye on turbidity (clearity) of water. I have found when I get air bubbles under the media in my falls, it dislodges all the debris and it then enters the pond. I don't use lava rock anymore because of this reason. It traps a ton of debris, and if I don't rinse it enough I run the chance of coming home brown soup. Anytime my pond level drops, and the skimmer is pulling more water than that is returning, a lot of air bubbles are taking in by the pump. It then runs to the bottom of the fallls and up through the media.

oh yeah! i picked up a bag of saki hikari growth formula and the fish are going CRAZY for it. they can't get enough! of course, i'm not feeding them as much as they would like because i have to make sure my water parameters stay in check otherwise i'll have some big problems.

updates in a few days. i'll be gone all weekend at the dave matthew's band concert at alpine valley. hopefully i make it back alive hahaha

Very nice, I know how hard that clay is to dig. You should be proud of efforts.
