My Red Devil killed my smaller Tiger Oscar :(

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I understood what he said clear as day. Why are you so confused? Or should we just call you a troll? You not once made a comment to help, and/or regarding what the OP said.

Do you have something against clekchau? This was the first comment you made in many inane comments on this thread. The OP made a thread saying OOps I messed up. Then MN-Rebel your quick to jump in and say get rid of the RD, ALL RD's are killers. Then the OP says that he is keeping the RD in the 55by himself and using the futuristic larger tank for his Oscars. So Clekchau basically said, yep 55 is to small, DAH, but RD's can be kept in a community if housed in a proper tank. Thats it. Which is completely true. Are RD's destined to be wet pets. alone in solitude cause so many of you dont know how, or are unable to make it work?
The reason why I said get rid of RD because the OP still has another oscar in the 55gal and the RD is trying to kill it. You thinking that OP will upgrade the tank? It can be months or years later and the surviving oscar isn't waiting for it to be happening.

Re: Madness, If mods agree with all that, then delete away.
The view/effort of some ppl was "keep thread on track for OP". Had NOTHING to do with personal things.
The view/effort of others was "prove their own view" regardless of relevance to OP's situation.
Period.

What you just said there, was what you should have said in your first comment of this thread. That makes perfect sense, and is good advice to the OP. Saying that RD's are killers and you should kick it to the curb, well if I were the OP, I would have gotten more from your comment above.

So you dont fall under the first comment? Right? And the second comment, you do? Clekchau was just stating that it can be done. So OP, dont stress to bad, if your willing to seriously upgrade, you can keep your fish together. Maybe...

Stupid thread. Close it and purge it forever.

Wow, this thread has spiraled out of control but it has been a entertaining read! I like the egg crate divider idea. That's what I do in a pinch. Actually a prefer acrylic glass from Lowe's cause it looks better in the aquarium but it's way more expensive.

I have a midas/red devil with an oscar and they have no problem at all. It's all luck and individual fish personality, though a smaller environment and less company makes for a more hostile situation IMO. I would probably say not to keep them together and the RD would be the more aggressive fish, but then again, my brother in law came home to find his wife beaten to death with a rolling pin by his oscar, so you just never know. Gruesome sight.

Your inane disregard for Thread etiquette IS the problem. You ignore bold, to argue with attempted emphasis.
Again, this thread is NOT about YOU & your inapplicable input for THE OP.
Start your own thread topic for ppl who care to become equipped for your relentless point, which absolutely no one here wants to have to spare the op from..

thread etiquette? i made one point and got flamed by you and that other guy for no reason over and over again. normally i ignore trollbait but i guess i was bored

op, good luck with your tank, you really need a bigger tank though to keep a rd, a much bigger to keep them in a community but it can be done.

cheers

Don't understand the arguing here. Cichlids just tend to vary a lot in temperament as many of us who actually keep decent sized CA community tanks have found out. If you have 50 red devils, I'd bet a handful would be relatively mellow, a good number psychotic killers, and the rest would fall in between. Also taking into account tank size, sexual maturity, size of tank mates, etc... Besides Shawn, I don't know a lot of people that even have pure labiatus...
