Thanks for the nice comments guys.
Driftwood at bottom is nailed to a pice of slate; drfitwood that's elevated (i.e., sitting on other pieces of drftwood) is natuarally sinking driftwood-- I forget what type of wood, but certain wood (maybe African driftwood?) sinks without needing to be weighed down.
Tanks is 96x24x36. Not a lot of depth back to front (24") but long (8 ft) and very high (3 ft). A great size tank for cichlids because thay don't need a ton of bottom space (like catfish), they prefer the length and height.
Tank is full of bad boys, but because everyone is of similar attitude, and because I keep it a bit ovecrowded, none of them get too territorial. So, no aggression. Yes, certain fish do "avoid" other fish, but rarely any gill flares, and I can't remember the last time I had any liplocking. This is an truly an "aggressive community tank". Lots of colors, constant movement, everybody eats like pigs-- a fun tank to watch!
Large Cichlids, the labs 'aint cheap-- but I can't remember the exact price.
