I actually noticed there was less fry before I fed the BBS. I did do a water change the night before. The water temp might have fluctuated a little from my faucet. Or I might have waited too long to feed them and they died. Either I'm hoping these are the strongest fry.

Now I know why me previous attempts at pairing Tweety with somebody didnt work. Thats because one of my "male" RT is actually a she . 2 days ago I added my 100% male cyano to my 135 and immediately they started fighting. The next day the female was following the male around and doing a lot of head shaking and tail slapping.
Some headshaking
Some dancing
Cyano's got a fat tail
Her color is a lot deeper ever since I added the cyano
sorry to ask u that silly Q but how do u tell gender of texas at 3".i bought 4 pairs from lfs and they seem to loose their dorsal spot and get them back again,so dont know which is which and how much time should i wait for pair to form, can they breed at 3" and what are the behaviour differences that pair mates show
dorsal is not 100% but every one I've owned always end up being female. The black markings fade and reappear randomly. When in breeding mode, they become very black. At that size it's difficult, most males grow taller, and females look like torpedoes.
I have a real nice 8" red texas I had to separate. It was killing my red tail/tiger shovel nose hybrid cat. How can you tell the sex and I will tell you what it is...?
