Bought this pair from Butthorn about two years ago. I've tried each partner with different fish, but it never works. They are inseparable. Sometimes he gets a little rough, and she hides in the log, but I've never had to separate them.

When I first got them they were churning out babies every 3 weeks. Then for about a year not a single egg hatched. I switched up the diet (no more massivore) and they're back to cranking them out.

The thread says "rt project" but all you are doing is throwing dice every time that same pair lays. I would separate the pair and move along to phase 2 of your project if you really want red texas. That pair throws some neat fish but you can do better.

Great advice! (duh) don't appreciate the condescending attitude

Introducing Phase 2:
F1 male (forehead non-fader)
F1 female (fader loaded with eggs)
