I think they sell tubs very similar to that at HD and Lowes for about $10 here. Every time I go in there, I think "I should buy one of those for transporting fish", but haven't yet. I figured I'd use a battery powered air pump and a pre-colonized sponge filter for longer trips, but an FX5! Did you have any problems with the flow being too strong in such a small size tub?

And I can't believe you didn't put a blanket down on your seats before putting the tub in!

Hahaha, well the move was on a bit of short notice... kinda. I've been considering it for a very long time (nearly a year) but circumstances changed and I had to do it right away. The FX5 was the only transportable, colonized filter I could really use. I just closed the outlet valve most of the way to achieve a trickle through the tub.

I also did not have a tank set up for them in the new place, so I had to bring a filter that could do the job indefinitely. The FX5 was perfect

As for a blanket - what for? insulation? I had a heater in the tub. Absorbing water? Well that would have probably been prudent, a tarp would have been ideal - a fair bit of water sloshed out on the drive - northern roads are not very smooth.

Yeah and living in the north does have it's suckages... it snowed here yesterday, but it was above 0C this morning!
