Hey guys, my Saratoga has been lethargic for a few days, as soon as I noticed it I checked and the ammonia was high, I assumed it was ammonia burn based off of what I’ve read, it’s just odd that none of the other, less hardy fish didn’t get affected, he’s been floating at the surface with laboured breathing and has a clouded eye as well as what I can only describe as white mucusy stuff only on one side though, it’s a bit white and fuzzy so maybe fungus? I’d really like some advice! this fish is my pride and joy! Thanks! Could be from the ammonia. Keep the water pristine and wait it out. Reduce stress. Not much else to add unfortunately.

What are you using to dechlorinate the water? May be switch to Seachem Prime and make sure you clean your filter sponges out too. A little Epsom salt should help too. Good luck with the Aro. Pay attention to the eyes and the gill plates. The high ammonia will cause the gill plates to curl at the ends. Most of the time its Irri-reversable.
