nice

that's crazy. are redtail cats rare in Australia?

i'm gonna name my little 2 inch rtc "sally jr" lol.

Omg its so tiny, it took me a while to see it.
I was almost about to say that your RTC sure looks alot like a cichlid lol

I'll let Sally know that shes got a little kitty named after her, I'm sure she will be flattered.. if she could understand english that is.
And, yes, to answer your question, red tail cats are pretty rare over here. They are illegaly brought into the country, so you wont just find them in a store.

amazing story!! I think I shed a tear almost O_o! I have not seen many other aussies tanks but from what I have seen none of them put in like this.

and yes RTC are super hard to find, I have been looking almost all year got the jardini got the mangrove jack but cant find a RTC the other 2 are fairly easy once you figure out who gets the good fish!

I must also say the pool idea is really smart I have a spare area outside I want to place a pool now I might be able to man up and do it!

thanks for sharing the story.

Glad to see things worked out, I quietly followed your previous thread with great interest and was very bummed to hear about the flooding. Nice to see a RTC get the care they deserve, hopefully I can match this care level and finally get a RTC of my own one day. Subscribed.

Just keep looking, eventually one will pop up. You just better hope you can afford it lol. Ive seen some ridiculous prices out there.
An outside pond would be great for your natives but an RTC needs constant warm temperatures, and it is just way too cold and varied in melbourne to keep any tropical fish outside in my opinion.

Hey mate, amazing setup and even better story line. Im around brizzy too.

I was looking at indoor pond ideas and a pool with a liner seem like a much much easier solution than a plywood framed pond. Might have to see about that14'x8'x3' pond on the gold coast though, that would be a good idea :D

This bloody catfish is always finding ways to cost me more money. The pump to her filter has stopped working, seems like she decided to use it as a toy and bash it around the pond a bit.
Maybe i should fire up the barbecue like everyone keeps suggesting to me. lol
