My shark pond addition

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I would go with two 1/2" pieces laminated together. Glass gets pretty expensive over 1/2".

I would think at least 2000 gal the pond was 700, the addition part is bigger ...
I will do a CAD drawing of the dimentions

I just got a quote from the glass shop .

25 x 28 x 1/2 thick clear glass is around 125 each and I will need two of them it sound like.

the starfire is around 200 each.

I will only be doing this once and I am still good with the amount I have invested in to the pond, but will I notes the difference when looking at the sharks, stuped quetion but I have to ask ;)

See how much acrylic is in your area. It's easier to care for when it comes to larger windows.

And yes, the window will be used often. You'll love it.

I have another question .

I am ready to start sealing the pond. would it be better to nail on some chicken wire to the wood and cover it with mortal cement to make it the same as the mortal around the bottom ?...then fiberglass all the mortal cement and corners then cover over the complete pond with sweetwater epoxy paint ...

do i even have to use fibrglass or will sweetwater epoxy paint seal the mortal cement just fine ? i do have three gal.

if i do have to use fiberglass and resin , I seen that taps has a fiberglass that does not need sanding,
should I use that type since I will cover it with sweetwater epoxy paint...I have three gal for the surface.

taps has so many different type of resin and the kid that works their replies with " I guess that would work" he also told me I should get a certain type for the walls but it will cures all the way"

any help on the types of resin would help

thanks

Nice project! My dad and I are trying to get my mom to let us get sharks again, I am gonna build a tank, but you are making me think that Shark ponds are more fun to build.
