my shark tank (a port jackson shark atm) + a question !!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
NOT - 30 degress cooler - more like 10-20 degrees cooler.

Bamboos generally like water temps in the range of 70-84F, While PJs generally prefer water temps in the range of 57-70F. PJs are able to tolerate water temps of up to 75F - but these water temps cause them to grow faster and tend to shorten their life span.

There are other species of Heterodontids which tend to be more sub-tropical than can be kept with bamboos -successfully.

For example California Horn Sharks - tend to prefer water temps of about 65-75F. But they have been found and kept at water temperatures ranging from 60-80F.

pretty stupit to tell;\ but i just saw the PJ wasn't feeling his self ok.. he was breathing pretty rapidly and sometimes it was a bit stressed and stuff maybe he could stay in it for longer but i just want it has a gd life so the best thing was to get it back to the company, the owner didn't mind it at all, the owner called me this morning the PJ was doing much better :)

im growing 2 banded bamboo sharks now thease will be for longer term im for sure, I've raised the water temperature slowly to 26 C
got a picture of one of the eggs ;):

you can see the pup is is pretty big already in its egg, it won't take long for hatch i guess.. (don't have a pic of the other egg but its quite the same)
have the eggs for a week or so, i see them moving sometimes its cool to see :) i already have got the things ready when they will come out of their eggs, i got something to keep them on a clear place so i can see them, there is a small overhanging cave where they can lay under, they will get the tank for themself as they start eating, i know it can take ± a week, i will feed them life mysis to start them eating, and other small life shrimp..

well SEEya ;)

oh: ye I know I was just stupit to choose a Port Jackson Shark, you don't need to blame me I know I made a big fault :|
