Caught all 6 and did a 1hr paraguard dip. The 7in across leaf is under the container I used to photograph them.
#1 with the bump/cyst

I also noticed this on one of its pectoral fins.

Hopefully the dip will work.
I am now thinking all are females (all big, colorful hooks).
Who is chewing on #6 caudal fin?
Beautiful fish!

Not sure but they all have tattered edges on either tale or dorsal.

where did you order?
These came from an LFS. I happened to walk in right after they were delivered. Picked them up for less than $20ea.

I stopped into the LFS today to ask about origin of the Redhooks. These came from a hobbyist who was transitioning from fresh to salt.

I was asked by a hobbyist on a local forum if Redhooks are available as tank raised. F FJB dr exum dr exum

I know they have been tank raised. However I have never seen TR red hooks for sale. By the way ‘red hooks, M. Rubripinnis’ appear to be a complex of at least 3 related taxa, which probably explains the unusually large geographic distribution of this ‘common species’.

Have a suggestion for those wanting to keep delicate plants with silver dollar type fish.

I use a false glass wall across the back of my tank. Substrate and tall lush plants behind. Able to use plant tablet fertiliser without fear of getting dug up. Bare glass bottom in front for easier tank maintenance if you wish. The false glass wall shouldn't be water tight so the tanks water level is same both sides.

When I purchased the redhooks I noticed the tattered fins but overall they looked healthy. Fins will heal so into the 260g they went. One of the hooks is covered in 1mm bumbs and one has a hard cyst like nodule on its tale. It also has something bluish but flat on the left pectoral fin. So, I set up the 10g added some paraguard and all 6 hooks. I will try the PG for a week and then move to Kanaplex or one of the other meds I have. I will pick up some meth blue this week as well.
