He doesnt hunt?

mine has killed 4 of the 6 minnows. He loves to hunt them.
Ill have to post pics later.

Oh he hunts, but not the fish hahaha. If I put my finger anywhere in the tank he comes running and snapping at it!

its true he will soon be a great hunter. mine wouldnt eat anything but earthworms for the first couple weeks but since then i got him on a well balanced diet. floating turtle pellets, crayfish, fish, and market shrimp. etc. hes spoiled. but i did have a question. does it get really cold where his tank is? because he doesn't really need a heater in his tank i provide mine with a basking lamp and a log to get on if he wants out of the water (which is more often than many think) but the water stays around 70 degrees in his tank. and they can tolerate much lower temps. its up to you really but its one more thing racking up the power bill. and when he gets larger he will probally try to munch the glass tube.my friends snapper headbutted the heater and it broke the heater and his tank and then shocked the turtle. so if u keep it id suggest a metal indestructible one. just to be on the safe side.

That heater is a spit in the bucket on the power bill. Nothing compared to the pool in the back yard lol. I like it in there for a couple of reasons. One being turtles are cold blooded animals, warmer temps = more activity and slightly faster growth. Also, it helps the tropical little fish that are in there with him stay comfortable. All the guppies in there are prego females. Wanting them to give birth to in house dinner service!

Nice setup! Gravel or sand would look nice in it to.

Yeah, I decided not to go with sand. makes it easier for him to grab his food cleanly and also a heck of a lot easier to clean up. thanks though!
