If I’m not wrong, 2-3 weeks for a ray pup. Before my pearl pup passed on, it carried on for about 3 weeks without food
What u suggest to feed pup ray????
I am using frozen bloodworm, whitebait and scallop cut small.but not eat just yet, will keep try

What youre feeding now is fine I guess, but if it doesn’t eat after a week try nightcrawlers

By the way, the action is normal right , or showing he still stress??
Tbh I’m not sure, I just know that new rays do that sometimes. It could be just exploring it’s new environment, or possibly slightly stressed. I’m sure other MFKers such as matteus, Jim Barry or gpdriftwood would know more

Hi all,
Just pick ip my pup stingray 4 days ago.
In the new environment, First 2 day he doesn't move much and eat much.
Until today, Please see photos, he swim up and down to the top and also swim to the filter outlet
Is that a normal action for stingray, good or bad sign or doing this ???
Thanks

Prazi is used to treat parasites. Is it wild caught? Any signs of parasites? Do you know where it came from? Young fish need more food then adult fish, I'd try some worms to get it eating as suggested above. Keep an eye on body condition especially area between eyes and around the base of the tail, should not be "sunken" in appearance. Rays are inquisitive so could be settling in and exploring or could be stress.

Movement is always good from all my experiences. It's when they just stay motionless on the bottom that u need to worry more. U need to get it eating a.s.a.p. Chopped redworms or nightcrawlers are my go to. Live ghost shrimp have worked well for me in the past also.
