my submersible pump caught on fire!!!

im sorry i didnt mean it like that, its just if i heard that some where i would start laughing, mostly because i dont beleive them but you got pics and thats scary

I think there was air that was still trapped in the pump like most powerheads when u put em in water u have to shake all the bubbles out of them or it'll cause friction if it comes in contact with the motor which may had led to this.

this pumps been running for months,never out of water

I have had that happen with heaps of cheep pumps , seems to alwasy happen at about the 3-4 year mark

Sometimes the smoke seems to kill everyhting in the tank , othertimes it dosen't.

ya it was a cheap one but dang
no clue how old this one was,year or 2 is all

everything looked good till i busted the end off
it smelled just like the smoke did
only thing i see melted is some silver "solder?" drips
i tried getting deeper with no luck,seems all solid
does it go deeper?lol

now i cant get that burnt smell off my hands lol
