actually oddballs are the fish that don't really fall under any category. Like try calling a tiretrack eel a cichlid. just ain't gonna work. Oddballs are just... odd. Anyway, nice fish. Are ropefish and tiretrack eels tough to take care of? What size aquarium do you need for them, what do they eat, etc.

From my 1st experience taking care of the eel, it died on mw (dunno why). Then when new stocks of tt eel came, i bought 4 just to make sure. I feed them tubifex worms coz i know they love worms. Then when I noticed that they are stable, i sold two of them. I currently have the last two. I feed them market prawns, tubifex worms and sometimes small fishes. When I put the market prawn in the eel's face, it immediately grab it. So i believe that they can be handfed, but just give them some hiding place.

As for the ropefish, i have 1 ropefish before but then again it died on me a for just 3 days. So I waited to have some budget to buy a few ropes, after i had the budget only two ropes are left from the petshop. When I put them in my tank they eventually went straight to the cave that i made. At first i noticed that they just hide, so i made a move. If you noticed on the pics i have a clay dish there, this is where i put the live tubifex worms so all the fish can eat. Sometimes the ropes go to the dish and eat some of the worms. After i ran out of worms i tried feeding the rope market shrimp which are cut for their size. I put in inside the rope's cave and eventually they ate it.

@cmartin - thanks dude. :D
@moonchild - thanks, when will you get some ropes?

oh ok. what size tank would you say for both species? it seems pretty easy to keep them. every website I've been to has made it sound like unrolling barbed wire with your tongue.

What species are you referring to?

Great fish! I really like the ropefish, and that BGK is just gorgoeus.

Did you ever get a bichir?:)
