Thanks-
I got another kind with him and it fights with it all the time-
Is this normal------or no?
my two which are the same kind are always having squabbles but never hurt each other.. so i would say yes it is normal especially if two males i think.. just as long as they are just play fighting and not getting down and dirty it is not a problem.. only if one is stopping the other from eating and enjoying the tank too would i think it was nessasary to separate them.. in my tank the two are equal.. you cannot tell who is bigger or tougher.. they both argue with each other and then scurry off.. in different directions.. and do it again,...:D

Alls I know is these guys have some attitude-It is nothing for one of them to push around a 20 inch marble sailfin...Or a 20 inch chocolate common either.....Dominated my 11 inch Pimelodus Blochii also.....And now go at it with eachother.....

I never see any damage either-But the attitude I certainly see from them...

Big balls on a little fish.....

Synodontis Ocellifer

Scientific Name: Synodontis ocellerifer
Recommended Aquarium: 75+ Gallons
Approx. Adult Size: 8 inches
Temperament: Peaceful
Ease of Care: Easy
Diet: Omnivore
Native Waters: Africa - Senegal

First described by Boulenger in 1900. It is found in the Senegal and Chad regions of Africa. It can make a good scavenger for an African Cichlid aquarium, though it may not tolerate other Synodontis cats. A silver gray body with multiple small black dots and a forked tail, the Ocellifer will mostly be active at night or when food is added to the aquarium. It needs to be treated as a smooth skin catfish when treating for parasite infestations. It is not unusual to find this fish hovering “upside-down” inside of a cave since many Synodontis behave this way. Their diet should include meaty foods (blood worms) and some vegetable based sinking pellets. If properly maintained, the Ocellifer can live for many years.

Approximate arrival size for Arrival Size for Synodontis Multipunctatus: 1.5 to 3 inches; Large 4 to 5 inches
