Craig, Do you have any undesirble algae problems with the actinics, or does the UV fry everything. I did away with my morning cycle because I was getting nasty reddish algae on my rock and plants. I change my bulb every 6 months and do weekly water changes (15-25%). My city water is pretty high in phors. so that contributes. The local lfs said to use RO and forget about the actinics. I'm thinking about a small 4 gallon RO unit but I can't see myself losing the night cycle. All the Peacocks look awesome under it. The catfish love the lower light. And I love chilling out at night just vegging in front of my tank w/ the actinics ripping. Is their hope, or should I listen to my fish dealer. Thanks Matt

I get a little bit of algae but the fish clean most of it. My tank replaced my TV and I am getting rid of the Albinos.

Thanks . I've changed the rock around a bit more and switched from the Fluval FX5 to an Eheim 2078 Pro 3E. The fish use the tank alot more and don't have to fight the current that the FX5 put out all though it did a wonderful job of keeping the floaties off the top of the water. Now to convince the wife to let me build a 150 plywood at 48x30x25. I now want to sell the FX5 and maybe grab another 2078 Pro 3E as I love to use the stream function but if I can link both into one spray bar it would give a really stream like look without alot of pressure. I stripped 3 more fish the day before yesterday 1 WC Mloto, 1 Saulosi, and 1 Red Eureka w/ albino gene as I got a few albino fry w/ egg sacs.

If your going to build your own dont stop at 150. I have a standard AGA 6' 150, trust me its not that big. GO BIGGER!!!

Wow that tank looks amazing. I just started a cichlid tank. I could hope for mine to look as good as yours.
