My tank has sprung a leak!

Has anyone ever used those suction cup handles?....I figure they might be helpful in lifting and re seating the tank back into the stand.

I never used them on a tank but I used them when I used to install windows and they worked great. Just make sure the cups aren't wet and have a good hold cause they do slip sometimes.

Duly noted.

I would use a dolly to get the tank as close to the stand as possible then lift it with the suction cups to make it easier

Yep I have one and that will be the plan for resetting the tank.

What'd you do,trash it?...I told myself that if this job isn't successful I will try to sell it as a reptile tank...or maybe keep it for such.
Yea basically, put it on the back porch then went to my friend's LFS and told some guys they could have it... it just needed to be resealed. They never came for it. It actually resealed itself sort of and started to refill with rainwater. I was afraid of getting mosquitoes so I tried to pry the end glass(where the leak was) open...well, the glass broke in two.

Later got the rest of the panels apart and left them at the house when I moved.

So? What's going on here? Just letting the silicone set up?

Got all the inner silicone removed but I can't get the damned top frame off.

I wouldn't take that off....but if you want to, good luck getting it off in one piece....and then you'll have to replace it.

Yeah I thought about it breaking at some point and lord knows I don't need that happening.I was just trying to follow Urau Joey's instructions in his video.

I sealed my 180g without taking the rim off and didn't have any issues, if you're worried about leaking from the trim just put a bead around the trim on the inside. Ime I haven't been able to take the trim off a larger tank with out breaking it.
