My tank has sprung a leak!

Guess that is what I will do,after I remove as much of the old silicone from underneath the rim.I fear there will be issues with the new stuff adhering properly if the old is not removed.

I did with an old 125 years ago but only to replace the braceless frame that it had with one that was made with a brace...got it off and changed out in a jiffy unlike this one so on it stays.

Glass Cages sells tank trim.
 
Good to know but I don't want to have to pay for another one.I've got just enough going on with this tank as it is.
