My Tiny EBJD's

Wow yours looks great! so you made it beyond the dreaded 3" mark. Looks like they grew fast. Any tips on raising these little guys?

To be honest ive just feed them and kept the water clean. All have been raised with just jacks and plecos.

I know you don't go to cca meetings but, if you could make an eception, I could pick one up during the next meeting.

Knowing how fragile they are, it is a "no-brainer" to keep them by themselves...even the stress from a chase could cause your EBJs to NOT eat, grow, etc. Same way that handicap children are kept from the other children on a playground. The latter is just too mean and aggressive for them. Successfully raised and bred in half a year. Pics are progression from 1.5", to Breeding age, and then the new generation.

This. I bought mine from a lfs for $40 and was only 1". He died a week later. But the next day after I brought him home he got ick. I am sure he contracted it from the lfs. I treated it ain't went away. But he wasn't eating at all. In my 120 gallon I had 1 Bala shark, 1 rainbow shark, geo. Don't know if I'll take the plunge to raise one again but they are very beautiful fish.

I don't think it was the fish being fragile you had 1" fish with ICH, with a much larger fish I am assuming the Bala was large if you had him in a 120. I don't think it was the fishes fault I think you made a bad decision.

Actually the Bala shark is smaller than the ebjd. It wasn't my fault at all. All my water parameters were good. Just these fish are very very fragile. All the rest of my fish are doing great except for the ebjd. I am really pulling for this one to go through. Today was the first time in 3 days that he actually came up to the top and eat a little bit of flakes. But I can see ich on him right now. All the rest of my fish don't have it except the ebjd. I am going to treat the tank and cure it
