My Trevally

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Oh OK! Learn something new everyday. Thanks for explaining. Am I the only one that don't know this. Embarrassing.

Haha I didn't even know that there were trevally's that could live in freshwater until you started this thread! I envy you on how you're able to obtain not just 1, but an entire school of them AND be able to keep them for life! It saddens me when I see all the baby golden trevally's at the lfs cuz I know there are very few people that would have a tank large enough for them, let alone a saltwater tank

Don't get me wrong guys. I'm not trying to convert saltwater fish to fresh. Currently they are in brackish and if they get to a larger size and requires full salt then so be it. I catch these all the time in brackish waters in Hawaii growing up. Caught some as large as 18". I am willing and ready to house these guys as they get big but I really don't think they will get bigger than 18"-24".

I totally thought that you had a naturally occurring freshwater trevally. Bummed to find out they're not but still, learn something new everyday right? I didn't know they can live in brackish water.
