My Trigrinus Help

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Use the whitespot med as advised in the instructions. If u do water change say 25%, then add back 25% dose of med.

maybe ask your cousin if he has a spare
External canister Filter and maybe he can fill it with some mature biomedia from his tank. U could do this tonight maybe...
If not go get ammo lock from fish shop first thing tomo morning.

Wow, this really escalated.

Make sure the temp/ph is as close a possible when you do the water changes. I am sure more than anything, your Tig is stressed and therefore the Ich.

I have used quick cure with Tigs before with success. Others may advise against it since many wouldn't recommend using meds with Tigs. But I have personally used QC with success against Ich and I have also read that of another member using Parasite clear tablets with success.

The red veins near the fins are definitely not the best signs. Keep the tank parameter as stable as possible with good aeration and water flow.

Keep us posted. Good Luck!

I don't think the blame should be put on your cousin or the Arowanas!

Agreed you can't blame your cousin for lossing the fish... the sooner you learn you messed up and take some blame and learn what you need to do the sooner you will be able to keep fish... not putting tap water conditioner would be 1st on my list of why you probably lost him... 2nd would be cleaning you filter out all the time and not letting the tank cycle.... not anything to do with you cousin... not to mention everything that T1 named earlier... you killed it not your cousin... I am sorry you lost him but seriously stop blaming it on other people when it was under your care...

man i ain't blame to my cousin or arowana............

i know it is my fault cos i should not buy of his fishes. i have done too much on water changes which is spoil on cycle.

i am going to get one soon unless i need to get a proper tank with cycle filtration system and good quality water. before i will do it so i need to spend my time on more research

regards

still you say it's cuz you got it from your cousin.... i am willing to bet that is has nothing to do with any of the other fish you have... are the silver and RTC still alive??? tigs are more touchy and therefore the untreated tap water is probably what really did it.... and you weren't doing to many water changes.. you were cleaning your filter with untreated tap water and not letting your benefical bateria start going... the cermic rings say to only clean in tank water... which is treated tap water... NOT UNtreated tap water like you were doing... learn somthing from this so it doesn't happen again...

Right what can i say apart from this was going to happen no matter what we told you or done

you cant blame this on anyone else

i have lost a few tigs in my time but i put that on feeding prawn when it was to small am i would like to think i was a good fish keeper when i lost mine

i hope you have learned from this as i would think this mistake has cost you £150-200 but its not about the money its about what you put the tig throw
