still you say it's cuz you got it from your cousin.... i am willing to bet that is has nothing to do with any of the other fish you have... are the silver and RTC still alive??? tigs are more touchy and therefore the untreated tap water is probably what really did it.... and you weren't doing to many water changes.. you were cleaning your filter with untreated tap water and not letting your benefical bateria start going... the cermic rings say to only clean in tank water... which is treated tap water... NOT UNtreated tap water like you were doing... learn somthing from this so it doesn't happen again...

nope, this silver arowana is going to die today.... i can't do anything right now cos i spoil my tank cycle now and also haven't treat tap water with old cermic rings.

my rtc is so wicked.... he never get any diseases from them. he is okay but i need to do some more water changes tomorrow morning.

cc247, tell me....... how did my tigrinus died?

I think we can all agree that there are a few things that you still need to learn about keeping fish, especially Tigs.

Stress is probably the main cause for the white spot. The stress could of been from your WC, water parameters, stress from adding an arow to the tank. If the white spot was from the Arow, it would have more than likely had it as well.

Seems like the Tig got the white spot from the stressful conditions in the tank and not something it got from the Arow.

Before you get another one, do a little more research. There's lots on info out there on Tigs and fish in general.

Either way, it's all a learning process.

You'll get better through time.

Good luck with the next one. :)

yes i know......... my tigrinus was stress when the arowana came in. the arowana spread the white spot disease in this tank. my tigrinus catched this disease from the arowana. when my tigrinus got white spot disease then he was so stress than before. eventally he pass away in this morning....

man my tigrinus never get whitespot from stress condition... it aint true though. its came from the arowana.

i had him in my tank nearly 3weeks, he was so adorable and prefectly. the arowana came in last week so my tigrinus was acting so weird. i knew it was something wrong with arowana (whitespot)

thanks mate

Treat your tap water with tap water conditioner.... a lot of people you prime to do so... if you don't you will probably lose everything else... the chlorine in the tap is probably what stress your tig and killed it same with your aro... that's the first thing you need to do

Not saying this is the case because we can't prove it at this point. But white spot can very well be in an established tank without any fish getting affected. You will only begin to see white spots appear when the fish is stressed and their immune system is compromised. Once compromised, the white spot begins to take over.

I am not saying whether your arow brought it in or not (it really doesn't matter anymore). But just for future reference, "white spot" or "ich" can already be in your tank without any symptoms shown by your fish stock. The introduction of the arow, which led to extra stress to your tig, which then led to a weaken immune system, then the white spot will begin to take it's course.

This is of course a possibility, just like the possibility of you arow introducing white spots into the tank. Yes it could be the arow that brought it in, but it is just as likely that it was already in your tank and the stress caused it to affect your tig.

Either way, quarantine is always a great idea!

It's just a heads up for the future.

Again, sorry to hear that you lost a Tig. :(

dump the RTC

stop feeding prawns mussel and other foods like that until the tig gets past 12 inch they cant digest it properly

feed hikari sinking carnivore

also 2 days without food is nothing tigs are crap hunters and can go without food for 2 weeks + also dont feed it so it has a big fat belly its not good for them

+1000

You need to stop worrying about what happened to your tig... it's and i'm truly sorry for your lose but you still have an aro and RTC in the tank... treat it with tap water conditioner to get the chlorine out and treat it for ick... then you just need to keep water changes up since your tank isn't cycled and not clean the filters so it can cycle... so you don't lose another one

To tell the truth I have been keeping aro and rays for many years and I have never seen them get White spot

So I don't think the tig got White spot as I have never seen a aro with White spot

well i ain't lie to you guys.

i get this arowana from my cousin. he used his arowanas in ro unit water and also haven't put them in quarantine tank.

before i get one of his arowana so i put him in my tank which is hard water.

that what i am thinking cos if i put arowana in hard water then this arowana may turn into stress condition.

i would like yo upload a picture but i can't cos i don;t have a proper camera.

anyway its over now. i told you guys that i am not going to get any fishes from my cousin.
