looks great! what filtration are you going to have and how big is the tank out of curiosity?

I am sure you know this but I still feel like I have to tell you that they need UV light so you will need some lights to put over the basking area.

Like I said its not done, I have to go buy a new basking lamp and bulb tomorrow and I already have a UVB/A bulb for my hood thats on another tank. I'm gonna put the bulb in the hood and put the hood on the turtle tank tomorrow. Its a 55 gallon that I got from Petco today for $55 this morning. I have a 30 gallon Bio-Bag internal filter on it and and I'm gonna get a couple more. The plant in the picture hides it a bit. I had another turtle that was in my other 55 but you passed away from being eggbound.

Are those rocks siliconed together? I would make sure its stable and can stand up to the turtle digging or climbing...but i'm paranoid about things like that. Looks like a great start.

i would rather do a floating island thing because it will get the job done while saving underwater space! looks good though regardless!

I have a large one for my old turtle but I want a more natural look. As for the rocks they are not but I spent a good hour trying to get a stable combination, but I will probaly change it again to be on the safe side. The turtle I'm getting about 1.5-2 inches so its not gonna knock it over. Petco is doing their $1 Per Gallon sale right now.

I'm boiling some wood that I'm gonna put in the tank for basking that floats.

petco has a sale now?

yea there having there 1 dollar a gallon sale up to i believe 55 gallons..gotta act fast though there selling fast!

Dont stack rocks EVER to make a islant for a turtle, its extremely dangerous. I lost a young res many years ago because of that. Cork makes the best islands for young turtles.

I took your advice Coura and moved the rocks. The little guy was so lively and curious on the way home. We decided to name him Squirtle because as a kid growing up I always loved the Pokemon Squirtle. Paid $60 for him and hes so damn cute!
