That's a good idea too, put the two smaller on one side and the larger ones on the other. Since the big drawback to pulling them is they will be the new fish in a established territory(s) when I eventually put them back. And we all know how rough that can be. I wish there was an easier way to sex them at this size. However I doubt I can learn much at 2-3inches unless there is a give-away I've missed in my research.

Just a few shots before/during a water change. I got the two little ones eating now although their pretty slim, hopefully I'll be able to fatten them right back up. :)IMG_5980.JPG IMG_6006.JPG IMG_6015.JPG IMG_6020.JPG

I've done abit of searching and from what I can tell these guys are very hard to sex at a small size. Can anyone give me any hints on what I'm looking for? Would be much appreciated. Thanks guys

Honestly there's no way to tell until they reach around the 5 inch mark. The only way to somewhat tell is by seeing what fish is growing at a faster rate and getting the most noticeable freckles but it's never a for sure thing. Everything about them is the same until they're sub adults. Typically the dominant bigger of the bunch will be a make IME.

Yeah this is kinda what I thought. Thanks for the response anyways. I think their all between the 1-4 inch mark so not really anyway to tell besides saying the smaller ones are more likely to be females then males. Lol
