MY UMBEE STOCK

came home today feed the fish like normal, came back about a hour later caught the big umbee eating my pleco. like i said crazy. but awsome fish.
also pick up a beauty today , female festae about 4.5 inches

Guess he decided he didn't get enough dinner and wanted some dessert! Hopefully he got it down alright but shame about the pleco. Just when I'm contemplating trying some sort of pleco or other bottom fish with my guy I see this *shakes head*. Even the spiky, armored things aren't safe lol.

Congrats on the festae! She's gorgeous. Your umbees are looking great too.

ran into a friend that had purchased a pair and for some reason the male did not take to the new tank and did not make it. just luck for me to run into him before someone else did. now just need a male around 7 plus inch to get it going. thanks for the nice comments.:)

both males are very aggresive. on occasion you will see them hit the females so hard they knock scales off and i kid you not they eat the scales. crazy. my opinion they like the females in one spot and realy dont like them moving alot.they chase them away when feeding or any close movement by the tanks. like it has to be their way.

wow very nice , make sure you watch him when he eats like that , i had a 16 male that swallowed a red tail cat . i seen when i came in that he had it in his mouth . so i watched tv and about 1/2 hour later he was on the bottom of the tank. i kept watching and he turned side ways and his color faded and he was choking . i think he couldn't spit it out either so i pulled him out and got some plyers and got the tail of the cat and went back and forth pulling on the cat and it came out.

the gill on the umbee turned inside on the bottom but he healed in a couple of weeks. nice umbee again ...
 
Beautiful Umbees always been a favorite of mine. Got a few friends who live and die for them. I know they would love yours.
