Zoo you have a nice collection of catfish! The over opinionated people sounding off are the same jerks that have no problem feeding a goldfish. So enjoy your fish and REMEMBER they are just FISH not people!! You posted the pics for us to enjoy NOT get blasted!

yup getting that tank tomorrow it is a All Glass 180 and I will either sell, trade or give away my catfish in the next month or so.

Zoo! Your going to make a pond!...I am so proud of you! IDK if you remember but a long time ago we were talking about that and you gave me all this junk about ponds lol. But I CANNOT wait to see that pond. It is going to look amazing with all those huge cats in it. BTW if you EVER are up for a trade or anything on that TSNxMarble cat PLEASE let me know. That thing is sooo sweet! I think it would be just right to fill that void in my heart that my marbled cat left me with....

Nice collection of cats. The pic with the giraffe cat makes me miss mine (sold him when I transferred back to sea duty).
I'm not a big fan of how some LFS pass off large species to the unwary. But, the alternatives would be just as bad. If we solicit "Big Brother" to stop allowing the importation of, say, RTCs, to save us from ourselves, can we be sure it'll stop there. Big Brother has always come up with ways to over-help the public.
Another factor is where these fish come from. RTCs, Pimas, pacus, and others come from aquaculture farms. They're primarily raised as food-fish with some of the excess numbers being made available to the pet industry. After all live sales avenues have been exhausted, the left-over fish are destroyed and used in the production of fertilizers. I figure if 1 out of 1000 of these imports survives to showcase a large hobbyist tank then, it's importation was better than being ground up to raise beans.

Well said Oddball. That Giraffe cat is most definatly one of my favorite catfish that I have ever kept.
