My buddy has a 13' aluminum semi-v for duck hunting and it has an old mercury 8.9 HP on it and even when its loaded down with our fat asses, blind, guns, and heaters in the dead of winter it still gets goin pretty good. We have made some pretty risky trips too. Put in in Ohio and cut all the way about 4-5 miles up the river to michigan than another few miles across the lake to set up. Don't think you will have any problem getting that boat flying with that engine.
