Yup well I can't acquire a 20 "long" So he'll go into a 20 high then into a 55 gallon then pond Mavrick813;4774592; said:Had a snapper I found on the side of a road trying to get over a curb. Brought him home and he smelled horrible. I found 4 leeches under his arm and scrubbed his shell off with a new toothbrush and tank water. After about 4 weeks the smell was gone. I think it's probably something he was eating before I found him working it's way out of his system but I don't know for sure. I only kept him till he was about 6 inches then released him

I have actually read that snappers can musk. I've never actually noticed one do it though, and I've handled at least a couple dozen from newly hatched to 25+ pounders.
10 gallons for a snapper at 4" is really small though. Young snappers can be very active IME.
