Great idea Claude3rd!

Eggcrate is also good to have on the bottom of the tank if you have loose rock formations. It a rock falls and hits the bottome of the tank the eggcrate will absorb the impact and not the piece of glass that is your tanks bottom. It is just a good insurane factor that can prevent you from a rock failing and cracking the bottom of your tank.

I feel for you! I only use the darker driftwood the sinks easily. My LFS sells nice pieces from his tanks which are already waterlogged. Then he will replace them with a dry one off the shelf and plop it into the tank for the next customer.

Thanks... most important is to tie the wood SECURELY to the eggcrate. Don't be shy on how much fishing line to use. It sucks when you have you 180 half filled and your wood takes off.

As many people said before me i used the water logging method i though t it was pretty easy

My driftwood was over 5' long. I got a large piece of acrylic and attached it to the bottom of the driftwood using stainless steel screws. I placed the driftwood in the tank and covered the acrylic with my substrate. The substrate holds everything down. Make sure the acrylic is large enough.....

I was going to do that but my piece was a little delicate for screws.
