mystery death??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
No probs...I will keep checking this thread. If you send me a pm then I will let you have my email address if there is anything urgent that you are worried about but I think if you keep testing and keep changing the water you should be fine.

Keep an eye on that Nitrite too!

Good Luck

thanks mate....

do you think it would be best to move him to a bigger tank now?? because i have a 4ftx2ftx2.5ft with my silver dollar colony and a few severums and a couple of ghost knife. would he be ok with them??

or would it be to much ammonia with alot more fish also?

hey mate! YEs bigger tank is better, because more water volume, = more forgiving with mistakes.

should put em in the 4x2x2.5 first buddy!

ghost knife might attack eyes, the other fish wont be any problems until the ray outgrows them.

just acclimatise the ray to the new tank water. GL dude.

oh hey mate :D didnt know you were on here :D

yeah i wasnt sure wheather or not the rays could mix with other fish because ive heard they eat other smaller fish and some more agressive fish will attack the rays....

so you reakon i should move him then?

Hey, lol yeh man im everywhere!
definitely, a 4x2x2.5 had alot more water volume than your 4x1.5,
plus a larger footprint for the ray to enjoy until you get your new tank.
Just make sure it has all the filtration ready to go!

You will find once you get your 6fter everything will be alot easier.

ok hes in there now ill keep you updated i just wanna keep watching to see how he goes and if any of the fish pick at him

ok now his back end is curling up ... heres a photo ... it isnt death curl is it :(

its not curled up as much now probably about 1 3rd of what it is in the picture but now his whole disc is curling up but only about 5mm above the substrate

not looking as bad but he still is a bit curled ??? hopefully all will be well and it was only because off the tank change

yikes that doesnt look good. water params?
did you drip acclimatise him, before you put him in? is the tank fully cycled?
u sure the water is all good in there? that shouldnt be happening if that is the case.
I would keep a very close watch on that, if it gets any worse, put him back.
did you move all your filteration to the bigger tank also?

but mate that does not look good. is it still happening?

anyone else have any feed back?
