Everything on that show can be proven or debunked using science, engineering and most times just common sense.

Not anywhere near the same as this stupid "myth". Anyone with a small amount of brain power knows a few thousand pounds will fall through a floor. So what is the myth?

anyone else see the one where they blew up the small apartment with the bug bombs

i think its doable

They didnt blow the apartment up. Watch it again. It blew the door off thats it. Maybe a small amount of smoke and fire damage but nothing structural.

so mr genius...how much water will it take? will it make it to the basement? if not how far?

if you have even a small amount of brain power you should be able to figure it out.

As has already been said there isnt really a myth to this. What exactly are they supposed to be testing? Any good structural engineer could tell you fairly accurately how much weight the floor could take without testing anything.

he's right, what would be the myth here?

are we trying to prove something to prove it even though it can be proven with good engineering know how alone, or just for the sake of being on TV? dude honestly i doubt this is going to get through.

when is the last time they tested anything that wasnt for the sake of TV? They freakin tested free energy and mind control...that doesnt even take a little brain power!

I didnt say i new exactly how much water it would take. I said a few thousand pounds is enough and that an engineer could tell you. Whether it falls through the next floor or not is filled with a million variables. Is the tank glass or acrylic? How thick? What are its dimensions? Is there rocks or driftwood in it? Does it land dead flat, on an edge, on a corner, or a piece of furniture in the house below? What sort of wood are the floor boards? How old are they? Does the building include concrete? Are there metal pipes in the floor? Ect ect ect. Its a ridiculous "experiment" that can never be tested with any real accuracy especially if you want to compare it with real life situations. Mythbusters could test this 20 times and have every result different.
