there is plenty to be tested. I doubt they have tested wether a tank will make it through 4 floors. Anyone watching mythbusters right now? They are punching sharks ha ha. But the sharks look sweet
If you have a basement under the first floor it doesn't matter if you put a tank on the first floor or second floor because they are constructed in the same manner. Most floors are designed for about 40 lbs per square foot load capacity. This does not mean that when you put more than 40 lbs in one square foot that it will collapse. If this were true than everyone would be falling through floors. A 10' x 10' room is 100 square feet and should be able to hold 4,000 lbs with no problem. There are variables and putting all that weight in one spot can cause structural failure but does not mean that it will.
im just glad my sharks are on concrete flooring on the first floor,i have no basement but ill tell you what ,my wood flooring started to kinda buckle when my tank was full.500 gallon 8x3x3
no, we need a myth that will involve some of our members. Maybe get them to visit Li, johnptc, arapaimag...That would be awesome!!! how about the "fish get bigger in the wild than in a tank" or "fish only grow to the size of the tank". But it has to be one of the full hour myths, none of those 5 minute myths in between the main ones
That would be great and thats a myth that we would all LOVE to see but unfortunately most people wont care either way and wont watch...we know it and so do the producers...they only test myths that are either crazy (aka dumb like triangle power) or myths that involve explosions and/or destruction. Dont get me wrong I would love to see that myth tested, and feel free to post it on their website, but I really dont think it would make it.
