Warning: If you don't like the scientific side of the hobby, don't bother reading.
Actually, it was Nandopsis. Once Cichlasoma was restricted to port cichlids, festae became Heros. Once Heros was restricted to sev's, they became Herichthys. Once Herichthys was restricted to the texas complex, they became Parapetenia. Once that genus became invalid (or synomized), they ended up in Amphilophus. Once Amphilophus was restricted to the midas complex, festae found themselves in Nandopsis. Once they were restricted to the island cichlids, festae finally found themselves orphaned. In the hobby they are often labeled incorrectly as exCichlasoma, but since they aren't a large scaled cichlid (acara type), the would most properly currently be called exHeros (small scaled cichlids).
Books could list them in any of the above genus, depending on the time period it was published.
