In my limited Grammy experience, they're extremely aggressive and can do massive destruction to cichlids much larger than themselves.

In fact my 6-7" Trimac is in the hospital tank is probably going to die due to massive wounds inflicted by my 4" female Grammode.

I've got to agree with you on this. My male seems to go after cichlids 2-3 times his size, and has "hospitalized" a few. While not the most outgoing, they definately rank up there in aggression.

I know someone who put a jardini with a a couple of small grammodes for about 30 minutes while he was working on a tank. The grammodes destroyed the jar:(.

My male grammodes is the main cause of death for; Tiger barbs, Firemouth, Rock Bass, guppies, etc.
I have moved a very injured Rainbow and Convict to a 29g, said convict still has a swim bladder problem, but the Rainbow is back to normal now(he almost lost an eye to the grammodes, it bit at the eye and it was halfway out of the socket).

I try not to keep things with him now.

Yeah she doesn't liplock with the bigger cichlids, she bites the side of their body with her massive teeth and opens up nasty wounds. Def not a community fish.

I have seen many grammodes that were kept in community settings with cichlids much larger than them. However, generally grammodes attack other tankmates, especially if they are not a lot bigger than the grammodes. There is/was a term from another site used to describe death by grammode. "GRAMMOWNED"! It is very appropriate for this fish. Problem is they own each other a lot too.

how about some pix of those monsters?

My current malcontent.

Nice female balton! She definately has some pitbul in her.

I just happened to end up with a super overly-aggressive one. It's not a good thing imo. Poor thing is all by herself in a 20-long for now.
