Chances are your turtle will eat most of what you catch... I'd set up a fish tank if you want fish and not worry about the mercury.

Yeah, you're asking for trouble mixing your turtle with fish you actually payed for. He's going to end up killing and eating at least some of them. I have two yellow bellied sliders, and they're primarily vegetarians as adults, but they LOVE silversides and my big female will try to chase down and eat live fish.

Most people on here will tell you mixing turtles with fish is a bad idea unless you don't mind all the fish being eaten or killed.

You can catch all of those in the delta, except for the Rainbow Trout. You will probably need a chiller for the tank if you were to keep a trout in it. Let me know when your ready.

i will be sure to message you!

and the 2above thanks for your advice. actually the fish i'm paying for are going to a private lake.
and the fish I catch are going to be pets until the turtle get's them...
I am asking this everywhere but would the spines of bluegill/bass minnows stab my turtle in the throat?

Contact the concervation department and they will point you to a seller. Or you can do like I did and catch your own.
You won't be able to keep a Rainbow in a pond it needs colder, moving water that is well oxygenated.

goldfish are too high in fat for my mud turtles
