I used to have a native tank with mostly fry including LMB, perch, bluegill, and some small fish including Banded Killifish, Sticklebacks, fatheads, hornyhead chubs, creek chubs, a bullhead, and some darters. The Bass grew up and ate everyone except the BH. That tank had little cover after all the plants died. I had a complete tank with fish, plants, and rocks all from one tank. I want to do this again this summer. My new tank has a lot more cover. There is rocks, driftwood, and plants. Can I get some more small natives or will the bass eventually eat them all? This time I plan on keeping the bass well fed with feeders.

He didn't eat the darters until last. These are the fish I am trying to preserve. If i keep the bass well fed with fatheads and chubs do you think he will leave the darters alone?

Caught it when it was less than an inch.

i always kinda thought that you could influence a fish's aggresion by never feeding live food its worked for several of my bigger fish

My Dad said he saw a green minnow eat another minnow. I chased the "green minnow" all over the stream until I had a tiny LMB. I didn't feed him other fish, he outgrew them and ate them all. I don't mind that he eats other fish, I am just wondering if I can keep darters with him. I don't think they are his prefeered meal. I hypothesize that if I keep plenty of shiners, fatheads and chubs around he will eat those instead of my darters.
