  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I got into natives when i caught a minnow in my trap that was orange and blue. It turned out to be an Iowa Darter and I have been hooked since. These are very interesting fish.

I might be able to get you one free if you are interested.

Ewurm, I am willing to bet that any fish you put in with the bass will get eaten regardless of how much you feed it, and if the bass does not eat it the bullhead eventually will. Honestly, I think you should get rid of the largemouth and bullhead and start a native community tank, the fish are smaller but the tank will be more fun to watch. Or you could just start another tank.

Yeah, I think I might start a ten gal with just small natives. That's what I used to have. There is no way I am getting rid of my bass though. I love that fish. It's one of the few fish I raised from a fry.

7" he has grown from 1" to that size since september.

I used to have a native tank with mostly fry including LMB, perch, bluegill, and some small fish including Banded Killifish, Sticklebacks, fatheads, hornyhead chubs, creek chubs, a bullhead, and some darters. The Bass grew up and ate everyone except the BH. That tank had little cover after all the plants died. I had a complete tank with fish, plants, and rocks all from one tank. I want to do this again this summer. My new tank has a lot more cover. There is rocks, driftwood, and plants. Can I get some more small natives or will the bass eventually eat them all? This time I plan on keeping the bass well fed with feeders.
i dont know
