the bluegill are more agressive than most people think
ive seentherm in the wild chase away bass from a worm

Pumpkinseed sunfish are even more aggressive from what I've heard.

Both are very aggresive but around here where ever both those species occur together the bluegill always seem to be the more dominant species.

I think Bluegills are more prolific than Pumpkinseeds.

A sunfish of some type tried to eat my male cousin's nipple once years ago.

Perhaps this sunfish was missing a few key genes. It has been known to happen in our species.:screwy:

You should keep a small tank with only darters and native cyprinids. Minnows in the genus Cyprinella, Nocomis, Luxilus, and Lythrurus are cool in a tank. If you can catch a minnow from the genus Pteronotropis they are really nice, especially when they are in breeding colors. If you have a bigger tank with a bass in you should try to get a small pickerel , mini pike, put in it. I have kept them before and mine seemed to take well to the tank. When they are small they have awesome color patterns. Alright, enough rambling by me.

I am doing just that, with Killifish, darters, fatheads and chubs.
