also im pretty sure that to help your animals thrive, you'd have to replicate high and low tides.

I dont really want to encourage you to do anything illegal or that could damage the environment but if i was you ide just go grab some stuff. I have no idea even what the laws are here about taking stuff from beach is but i regularly catch stuff to feed to my fish.
I dunno what its like there but where i get my stuff from there are 100 fisherman fishing so if they can catch and take home fish then i can catch and take home a few small shrimps and crabs.
If your too young to drive and just have a small bucket containing a few small animals from the rock pools it would have to be a real a**hole of a ranger to fine you.
But i live on the other side of world so have no idea what its like over there.

Yeah, some legal things may get you on that, but if worst comes to worst, check lfs all over, because sometimes I am surprised to see them selling the same things that I can find out at the beach near me.
Green_fox - As much as I hate to recommend and agree with "illegal" activites, there comes a point in time of which you just need to evaluate the situation and go for it. Now I am 100% against the destruction of marine eco-systems ect. But if you goes and takes a few inverts and fish, I do not think its going to have harsh reprecussions. If I where in your shoes, I would go for it, bring some buckets, and a cooler, put them in the buckets, than into the cooler, and get home ASAP.

I dont think anenome from canada will do to well with a clown. Not siuted to each other and water temps would be wrong.
