Natives for a 20 Gallon Long?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yeah that's the name of the site. I didn't want to link it in case that isn't allowed on these forums. And yeah, if you know of any other sites where I can find the smaller sunfish for sale I would greatly appreciate the links. Thanks!.

Brian Zimmerman has small sunfish species (bantam, orangespot, northern longear, and IIRC some of the Enneacanthus) available sporadically. His fish are captive bred, while I believe Sachs' are all wild-caught, if that makes a difference to you.

Yea, he will have Ospots again late spring or summer. But he still has bantams right now as far as I know.

I will be all over those Ospots!
I already got 1 :naughty: (had 3) 1 died 3 days after i got them and the other lived for a few weeks but never ate. But the one I still have is growing great and eating fine.

Here are some pictures I took of my setup. I'm currently waiting for my new piece of driftwood to soak up enough water that it will stay at the bottom but other than that I'm about done with the tank decor. All of the plants are fake except the grass looking things in the middle. They were on sale at Petsmart so I figured what the heck. Right now the tank has 5 Rosy Red minnows (4 tiny red ones and the 2" one pictured below) and a Crayfish in it. I don't expect the smaller minnows to last long with the Crawdad. Take a look at the last picture to see what he did minutes after he was put in the tank. Either way, these fish should do the job when it comes to cycling the tank for the sunfish. Anyway, on to the pics:
