Natrual filtration?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If you have an issue running mains power to the shed, you could get a 12volt pump and run the low voltage cable out there. A lot safer and easier to get permission for.

Then you can build some sort of filter using the little pond pump.

Otherwise magic is the only other solution.

Cheers

you may require alot of them depending how many gallons your talking about but I would suggest Hydro 5 sponge filters run on battery powered air pumps with rechargable batteries that get changed out as needed. This will filter +/- 100 gal per hydro 5. secondly, do you need to heat this pond? heating with no electrical is a question for someone else. Is running a generator an option?
or perhaps a power converter plugged into a car to give you 110v to run normal filtration. hope this is helpful

yes didnt think of battery power, thanks. as far as ways of moving water without energy wat about siphon?. maybe theresaway to liftwater back in(thats what i was dreaming).

Get a donkey...worked for the romans!

Electric eels man! Electric eels! Hook a bunch of them up to some wires. dude, that would totally work. Feed them magic beans so that they never get tired!

A siphon only works buy moving water of higher pressure to an area of lower pressure. You need a pump to move from low to high. If you somehow find a way to do it make a patent because thats perpetial motion and something the human race has been trying to create since the dawn of time. Good luck

A constant drip system would work if you scaled it up a bit and had access to a clean constant water supply. Sponge filters provide great bilogical filtration and only need water movement to work they can be attached to the drain portion of the constant drip system. You'll also need a drain for the excess water because a constant flow will quickly make a mess. If you can provide most of this then it IS possible and I could provide a few plans if you like.

Actually there are at least two ways I can think of which uses solar heat to circulate water and break stratification of pond layers but I cant see you taking this on board. With only 5 fish and minimal feeding you dont really need any filtration anyway.

Im having great difficulty understanding the posts so let me see if I have this straight. You want to build a pond, indoors, with no power or natural light on someone elses property?

LOL Thats what I was thinking as well. This really sounds :screwy:

I think we need a detailed description of more exactly what your doing to better give advice.
