Hello all.

I am amazed to see so many mystic tank´s on this site. It seems to me that the the primal care is for the fish ect. and not the looks of the tank that matters.

Some of you did a great job on your tanks and it is a plesure to look at

Some of you ... well how to put it ... did a very diffent job on your tanks and it has more diffent colors in it than "Finding Nemo"

In my contry we have alot of different messures to use and mostly the gyes are carring as much for their cars as for the tanks.

Gear for the tanks we use is: Background and modules (comes in all sizes at variants, Rocky, amazon, cliffs ect.)

Back to nature:
Pangea:
Slimline
ect.

We would do anything to get the hole tank just rigth.

My hope for this site could be a higher standard for tank setup´s and pictures in general so we all can enjoy the fotos that are uploadet.

My own tank is nothing speciel compared to some of the hardcore tanks in my world (see it under my profile)

if i have the patience & skill, i'll come back & post on this thread:)

you should do needle nose gars those guys r freeking awesome i saw like 10 schooling in my LFS today....

Unless you mean longnose gars (Lepisosteus osseus) then the generic needlenose gars sold in stores are not gars at all.

Hi Alex. Ofcourse a have the patience. This thread is at teaser to thoose who likes nice tank setups. I hope that the standard will be raised in the future and will enjoy to see and comment on the great tanks.

Huh.. Needlegars .. No I mean
Lepisosteus platostomus - shortnose gar

I have 2 floridas now.. hmm there is just something about the "dessert camo" pattern that is destirbing. Im more in to the simplisity one color whit tags on tail :-)

How does "tank setup" or better picture taking add to Gar captive husbandry? Seems like a rather lower level standard that is more directed towards the aesthetic than useful.

Don't know but I just do not see these items (tank setup and picture taking) to be all that important, useful or even interesting. It certainly should not be a Higher standard that one needs to strive for or even bother with. Husbandry protocols seem to me to be a much much more important higher standard to shoot for.

well if you like yellow, red, green, blue og mixes sands whit dives, wreck, house on the bottom and imitatet backgrund ad plants, add´s ect. go rigth ahaed an enjoy...

This has nothing to do whit the gars as they live or are taken care of.

Simply dont get the low standart for "natural habitats" created in the tanks.

It is up to one self what to like I just know what I dont like and injoy the few who takes this hobby serius and bring it to the next level.

Why would anyone go against that ???? I dont get it,,,,

Well, gars are pretty low-key when it comes to tank set-up. Many times, less is more, even if you're going with a natural look. They just need space to swim around.

Surething Madding im all into that. Simpel is fine and Im doing it my self. I just dont get theese "Finding Nemo"´s setup.

Well yes perhaps for some gupies, tetra, neon ect. and kids´s starterset. It´s ok to be fun.. But when you get to the level of the hobby where you are keeping Gar´s, you should be a bit more sirius about the hobby in general if you ask me.
