Team USA. Not a bad proposal about the guys who didn't make it, or probably more accuratly the guys who don't want to go. Thats the issue. Some of the guys mentioned would be great on this team, but that doesn't mean that they want to go and play. This team is "small" by design. They are betting on the idea that although on paper they are going to be smaller than some opponents, they think they are tougher. So, I don't mind seeing how guard heavy they are, because now you can basically throw waves of young, fast, creative guys at your opposistion and I don't think the other teams will be deep enough to handle it.
Having said that, Howard would still be a perfect fit, and I don't know why he isnt there, and laugh if you want but Kaiman would make this team real solid.

That has been our idea over the past 8 years and the zones these guys run really helps them catch a breath on defense. If wearing them down was going to work it would have to be full court man on man, score as quickly as possible and get back to wearing them down on defense.

Dwight Howard IS on USA basketball team and Kaman is actually on the German national team i believe.

Completely agree. Howard is on Team USA...

I don't think that the scheme didn't work because it's a bad idea, I think it hasn't worked because it's different than how they normally play. That factors into this too, our guys have to get comfortable with the global game. It has taken some time, but I think they are getting there.

BTW, I thought I heard Howard wasn't gonna be there, must have been bad info, or talking about someone else.
Kaiman is on the German team, but if we would have invited him, he wouldn't have gone there. I know he's not flashy, and wouldn't really fit in, but he is one of a select few actual centers in the NBA, and that really could have helped.

Yeah laugh it up. :irked:

I know we need help in the front court but man.....:irked:

Hopefully this is a move that will give us a little more flexibilty in the trade market. Supposedly a deal was gonna happen for Josh Smith a couple weeks back, but they were asking too much. I'm guessing they wanted Prince, and either Maxiell or Amir Johnson, now we can possibly deal one of those guys too, and not be left with nothing....(just close to it)

:p:p:p
Read more carefully grasshopper....

I don't think i've ever heard Howard not being there. Also i think Chandler might have helped out more then Chris Kaman could. He's starting to develop into a 20-10 guy.

I didn't say you heard about it, or that you told me. I said that I heard it somewhere.

Chandler is over-rated, he is on an up-tempo team where he gets a lot of put backs, and easy under the hoop baskets. He is an above average rebounder, but I don't think Team USA will have an issue with that. They need guys who can post up, and create their own shots in the paint, Kaiman can do that, Chandler is still trying to figure out if he will be able to.
