The student athletes are not really being punished as they're given immediate freedom to transfer to whatever school they like. The students however are being robbed of probably 15+ years of competitive football while they're attending. Plus the effect on current coaches.

The athletic administration did not do enough so oh well. Hard to fell sorry for anyone other then the athletes scrambling. It's a tech school so the other students aren't there for SWAG anyways

Why would anyone want to go there now after the crimes that were committed were left to go on? Close the creepy place down just like the death camps in Poland caused by Nazi Germany.

Donations are at an all time high......just saying. There's HUGE public support.

I don't know, why would people want to go to a public tech school? Could be theyre one of the best

The school's not at fault for what the athletic people did, are they? How closely intertwined are athletics and academics? If they are not close, I don't see why the school should suffer.

What does this mean?

Additionally the NCAA has vacated all wins of Penn State football from 1998-2011.

Does that mean that they don't count? Cuz I don't think that's fair either. Its not the players' fault. They're the ones who earned the wins...

I was going to make a thread about this topic this morning. IMO the punishment wasn't much. USC received a similar punishment for giving Reggie Bush money. I realize you can't pay college players but I thought that was harsh. The problem I have with PSU is they placed football before the victims. The fact Joe Pa held information about this and the fact it went on for so long and wasn't spilled because it'd tarnish the school is awful. I mean they got a 4 year bowl ban who cares. It's not like they'd be a BSC bowl contender anyways. Now when they did that to USC that was an issue since they were a national championship contender. The program really should of received the death penalty. Take the year off come back next year brand new team and that dark history behind. A lot of rebuilding is in store and quite honestly I don't think they'll ever be the same team or school.
