need a fast id help with this

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
from the pics it's very hard to tell but i'm leaning towards fila viktor mentioned the breeding of large fish which makes me wonder if fila's have actually been breed in asia before I did some digging and came up with nothing definitive but i'm terrible at this internet thing so maybe someone else could find something sorry op got slightly off topic there

OP, Collin has confirmed specimens of each species. I'd be very inclined to take his advice. At this point if I were you, I'd buy it just to find out!

^ Dude I love your Brachy collection. Did you ever finish it out? IIRC,the last time you updated you were looking for vaillanti (which is, incidentally, a species that the one's the OP found could be)...

its highly unlikely that the fish is captive breeded in Asia, if that happen, there would've been alot of the smaller batch coming on the lfs with a very cheap price. I've been asking question on the lfs, and they've never seen a fila batch coming in the country before. Those fish I believe is capa, they were the firsh batch imported some times ago while still at smaller size. I do have a capa and a vaillantii in my tank which I bought directly from a reputable local seller/importer, and most fish were imported from Taiwan. Recently got an offer him of a 50-60cm fila, which cost about $7000.

those capa on the first page pictures were about 40cm, and the asking price was around $500 each.

Are those in US dollars? Ouch! So expensive both. But from the price alone you'd guess these are capa as it appears the fila would be ~10 more expensive, no?

I'd say so, even for a baby fila it would cost at least $1000 US, if one is to be imported in.
