need a fish identity.. i need help

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It is without a doubt an Alonocara, I would put my money on alonocara jacobfribergi possibly a eureka.

look at the lips. I just noticed them they appear to be mbuna lips. Sorry i didnt catch that before. could be a hybrid. (Not saying i think it is one, just putting that out there is all) Peacock looking fins and shape IMO with mbuna lips. I have seen some Ob peacock and mbuna crosses and they had similar bodies. I wish we had a brighter pic to work with so we could see the colors and markings better.

To me they look like peacock/hap lips ALL the way. but a high res pic would help a bunch.

IMO, the only thing about that fish that looks like a peacock is the fins (a little bit)... The overall body shape and pattern looks like a pseudo/melano, and the snout looks more like a melano, but looking at the stripes, I suppose it is pretty likely that its a pseudotropheus... Its gotta be one of those two though.

WOW, this one is difficult. I can see the case that you are all making on both sides. This is definetly a need a another pic situation. I know for a fact that it is not eureka, I also am sure it is not a redtop. The coloration does lead me to a peacock, but at first glance I thought mbuna and I not sure about that now. another pic well help.

At first glance I thought Red-Top. Looking more closely, I'm leaning toward a peacock hybrid of some sort. Another pic. would help.
