I don't know what exactly do you considered a MP, but I'm not that quick to pull out the MP judgment easily. From the experts I been taken advice from, most people tend to called it a MP when it truly isn't. A master piece is suppose to a flowerhorn of perfection, and these guys will run you $500+ as a 3-4" fish from tip to tip. And those are just the lower class MP. The real top MP will shed $1K and up from your pocket.
As far as investing that kind of money, I would suggest you to find someone that is connected to overseas suppliers. I know Jersey is tied with Chinh Trung(that's how he get his Tan King), and he is one the best guy from Vietnam IMO. Or order off from Aquabid from MickKamfa(one of the best Kamfa supplier on Aquabid - well lets say maybe it is the best from Aquabid IMO). You can't go wrong with MickKamfa and Julie Tran as your trans shipper. :D

it depens on what you look for in a flowerhorn you cant ever say a flowerhorn is perfect because everybody likes something different in a FH for me im not a fan of koksters more for pearl and color but for 300 dollars i could find a fish that in my eyes would be a masterpiece.
 
i've had good luck with mick kamfa (some of the best flowerhorns ever, my fader kamfa is awesome), and rainnybetta. You just need to be smarter than the seller, like look at lights, say for a fader, they might use red lighting to make the red stand out. A MP is what looks the best for you. I find the highest quality from importing, and i normally buy fry and sell the others off i don't want to keep once they get older.

What's a "MP"? Sorry i dont know this game at all.. I just know i like color with a nice head.. (Not Massive) Color is the name or the game for me.. Below is picture i found on mfk that i like. Just not enough color. Still looks quality to me?


 
MP = master piece
thats a pretty good quality. if you want a real masterpiece you could easily spend close to $1000 depending on what exactly you want. I would highly recommend contacting mick kamfa. Just do some looking on flowerhorncraze.com and aquabid.

Ok 1K is fine.. I'll google Mick kamfa. Does he have a web site or anything? Thanks for the help.. Do i need to ask for a certain kind of fish? Or just ask for insane color i assume?
 
A masterpiece is in the eye of the beholder. The classification is too broad to say this is what a MP should be. IMO, A masterpiece is a very unique fish, of excellent quality, A fish worthy of winning competitions. "Masterpiece" is more of a marketing gimmick anyways. A true masterpiece shouldnt really be under 1k.

If your dropping 4-5 hundred definatly go through somebody reputable. IMO hands down Rainnybetta has been supplying some of the best looking monster koks from SE Asia.

Some have had problems with Chon but they were always resolved, But he has some great fish occasionally for less $ than Rainnybetta.

I agree with fishingout on rainnybetta, he has some excellent flowerhorns, i've bought many from him.

I wouldn't recommend chon though, I never had my problems resolved and either did others. he lies a lot, and scams people.
