Is it just me, or does anyone else feel that maybe the focus should be on why there were multiple failures in the first place...rather than the remedial action taken to assuage an angry customer? To me, this is like buying a Chevy, having the transmission fall out a week later and then writing a glowing review of this company because they agreed to replace the engine. Regardless of how well a company responds to a problem with one of their products, who wants to deal with these issues in the first place? I also purchased a large Tenecor tank.

Brian how big is your tank?
Believe me I would much rather have had a tank with no problems. I really am not looking forward to moving 18 large dats, a 25" aro, (2) 25" Tems, and a 22" Azul.
I am just glad Tenecor is stepping up to the plate and taking care of the situation for me. They could had easily told me sorry we can't help you.
Instead they are admiting there may have been a concern with the original design. Now they will improve on that design for the better of me and future customers.:headbang2

DB junkie-how big is your tank? can you post a pic of your set up?

Can I see a pic of your tank and overflow design?

Thank you for your interest in my system. I've been meaning to post a couple of pics, primarily to show the stand that I built (presumably, someone would find it interesting). Sorry to say that I don't have any overflows. I'm a canister filter guy and have twin FX5s on this tank. I also have Dats.

my experience w. tenecor so far has been hit or miss, i ordered my tank in december with a ship date of feb 4, feb 4th has come and gone. They never followed up with me, I had to follow up w. them, first it was delayed a week cause of backlog, then it was delayed because they started building my tank from the wrong acrylic size and now I havent heard from them in 2 weeks, so I have no clue when my tank is coming. And now im more worried that If i receive it, its not going to be the way it was designed.

and how ironic, my sales guy was Brian Harnisch as well.

I had a similar experience. The failure to follow specifications is very, very troubling.

Did you go over all the details before you finalized the order? I had to sign of on the build sheet and authorize the build before any work started.
When I ordered mine, I just let them know the overflow placement, drain hole size and placement, back ground color, feeing hole and location of the returns.
I didn't request a certain thickness for the tank itself, since I trust their judgment. After all I don't make fish tanks for a living.
I did have some issues with getting a hold of them after I ordered the tank, but the way I think is "you can't rush quality".

For the record, I bought mine through fishtanksdirect.com and it was custom built to exactly my sepcifications and delivered on time. In fact everything about the deal from consultation to payment to communication during the build to delivery was a very pleasant process.

Here's a shot of my overflows if it helps. My tank is 96x36x25 with 1/2" thick acrylic. Some of my custom requests were larger bulkheads, no holes drilled in overflow boxes for the wimpy returns (so I could use hard PVC plumbing), black acrylic back, and two overflow boxes vs. the one standard Tenecor uses on this size tank.

Looks just like my friends setup. What size are the drain holes?

I finally got a hold of someone today and asked them to send me pictures. My tank is very custom, and I did go over every little detail with the sales guy, had him draw it out and signed it.

During the order time, everything was great, when it came shipping time, thats when things got ****ty. I think it might be because they were embarassed they had started to make my tank with 1/2 instead of 3/4, if they had sent that to me , that would have broke or bowed to destruction.
